SimBrief is a widely used virtual flight planning/dispatch service that produces detailed flight briefings and fuel planning for simulator flights.
Packet VA integrates SimBrief in our flight planning so, if you wish, our pilots can plan flights more consistently and with less manual work.

Plan realistic flights in seconds with SimBrief integration.

What Packet VA’s SimBrief integration gives you

  • Faster dispatch workflow: generate a complete briefing without bouncing between multiple tools.
  • “Airline-style” operational detail: SimBrief provides a dispatch briefing with information like fuel/weights, timing and planning context that many pilots use to fly more realistically.
  • More consistent routes: SimBrief supports real-world routing and a structured planning process (helpful if you fly online networks or prefer realism).
  • Optional “best of both worlds” approach: you can still fly your normal VA workflow even if you choose not to use SimBrief for a given flight.

(Where you see “Packet VA’s integration” above, keep the claims aligned with what you actually do in your Crew Centre—if you don’t, for example, auto-push aircraft configs or auto-import weights, don’t promise it.)

How it works (step-by-step)

  1. Create a free SimBrief account (if you don’t already have one).
  2. In the Packet VA Crew Centre, link your SimBrief username/ID in your profile settings.
  3. Choose a flight in Packet VA and click “Dispatch with SimBrief” (or equivalent).
  4. Review the generated briefing (route, fuel, weather, alternates), then fly and file your PIREP as usual.

Who this is for

  • IFR pilots who want realistic dispatch without extra hassle.
  • Newer VA pilots who want a “tell me what to do” structure for routes, fuel and paperwork.
  • Xbox/console or “limited tool” pilots who want one consistent planning flow (even if they fly with simplified aircraft).

FAQ

Do I need Navigraph?
No—SimBrief can be used for free, but the most up-to-date navigation data (AIRAC) is typically paired with a Navigraph subscription.

Will this work for every aircraft?
SimBrief supports many aircraft profiles and dispatch logic; the exact level of automation depends on the aircraft and how you prefer to fly it.

Do I have to use SimBrief on every flight?
No—we keep multiple dispatch methods available so pilots can choose the workflow they like.
